Technology That Strengthens Forensic Science and Critical Response
SEVA Technologies develops specialised forensic technology solutions for forensic care, deceased management, emergency and disaster response, education and research.
Our work brings together technology, infrastructure, domain expertise and training to help healthcare institutions, medical colleges, forensic departments, government agencies and investigative organisations build capabilities that are practical, effective and sustainable.
SEVA's Journey Began with a New Approach to Post- Mortem Investigation
Conventional post-mortem examinations can raise emotional, religious and cultural concerns for families. At the same time, advances in medical imaging were creating new possibilities for non-invasive and minimally invasive post-mortem investigation.
Recognising this opportunity, Virtual Autopsy Facility Services (VAFS) pioneered Virtual Autopsy solutions in India, bringing together expertise in biomedical sciences, forensic medicine, medical imaging and digital technologies. VAFS subsequently became part of SEVA Technologies. Virtual Autopsy remains an important part of SEVA today, but the experience of working with forensic institutions revealed a much larger requirement.
Technology alone could not strengthen forensic practice. Institutions also needed appropriate infrastructure, digital systems, trained professionals, better workflows and solutions that could work together in real operating environments.
That understanding has shaped SEVA's evolution. Today, the company's work extends across forensic care, mortuary and deceased management, emergency and disaster management, education and research.

Forensic Care
Specialised forensic technology solutions for investigation and institutional forensic practice, including Virtual Autopsy, forensic imaging, digital documentation, evidence management and related forensic science requirements.

Mortuary and Deceased Management Solutions
Integrated mortuary solutions, equipment and infrastructure that support efficient operations, appropriate body preservation and the dignified management of the deceased.

Emergency and Disaster Management Solutions

Education and Research
Digital learning tools, practical training and research capabilities that help medical colleges, forensic departments and other institutions strengthen forensic knowledge, skills and academic enquiry.
Forensic Technology Solutions for Evolving Institutional Needs
The areas in which SEVA operates are different, but many of the challenges behind them are connected. A forensic department introducing new investigative technology may also need infrastructure, digital documentation and training. A mortuary may require equipment as well as better facility design and management systems. A large-scale disaster may require emergency response, forensic examination, victim identification, temporary mortuary capacity and family assistance.
SEVA works across these requirements through four principal areas.

Our Vision and Mission Reflect the Wider Role SEVA Has Taken On
SEVA began with a focus on making advanced post-mortem investigation more accessible while respecting the cultural and human sensitivities surrounding death.
As our work has expanded, those principles have remained unchanged.
Our Vision
To make advanced forensic and critical-response capabilities more accessible to institutions through technology, infrastructure, education and expertise, while advancing scientific practice and respecting human dignity.
Our Mission
To strengthen forensic care, deceased management and emergency response by helping institutions adopt appropriate technology, develop the required infrastructure and build the knowledge and capabilities needed to use them effectively.
The Principles That Guide Our Work
As SEVA's scope has expanded, the principles behind its work have remained consistent.
Dignity
Respect for the deceased, their families and the cultural sensitivities surrounding death remains central to our work.

Scientific Integrity
Technology must strengthen evidence, documentation, accuracy and confidence in forensic practice.

Accessibility
Advanced technology creates greater value when institutions can practically adopt, operate and sustain it.

Collaboration
Progress in forensic care requires medical experts, investigators, educators, technologists and institutions to work together.

Learning
Education, training and research are fundamental to developing capabilities that continue to create value over time.

Responsibility
Technology must be introduced thoughtfully, with a clear understanding of its purpose, its limitations and the people and institutions it is intended to serve.

Institutional Capability Requires More Than Technology
Advanced equipment or software can introduce a new capability, but technology alone does not determine whether that capability succeeds.
Institutions also need the right infrastructure, workflows, expertise, training and ongoing support to use technology effectively. This thinking influences how SEVA approaches its forensic technology solutions.
Depending on the requirement, our involvement can include specialised technology and equipment, infrastructure planning, digital systems, implementation, training and support.
The objective is not simply to install a solution. It is to help institutions develop capabilities they can operate, use and sustain over time.
From Virtual Autopsy in India to Integrated Forensic Solutions
SEVA's evolution has been closely connected with the requirements encountered within forensic and institutional environments.
Virtual Autopsy Facility Services (VAFS)
established the initial focus on non-invasive and minimally invasive post-mortem investigation in India.

SEVA Technologies
expanded that foundation into a wider Virtual Autopsy ecosystem combining medical imaging, digital visualisation, forensic documentation, evidence preservation, education and research.

Institutional Virtual Autopsy capabilities
extended the approach beyond individual technologies to permanent centres and mobile deployments capable of supporting different institutional and operational requirements.

Mortuary and deceased management
Education, training and research are fundamental to developing capabilities that continue to create value over time.

Emergency and disaster management
extended the company's capabilities into emergency preparedness, Disaster Victim Identification, family assistance, mass-fatality management and related response requirements.

Education and research
now provide another important dimension through digital learning, workshops, training and tools that allow forensic knowledge and case-based learning to develop alongside technology.

Scientific Expertise Is an Important Part of How SEVA Develops Its Solutions
SEVA operates in areas where technology meets the realities of forensic and medical practice. Its Scientific Board brings together forensic professionals and laboratory experts whose clinical and field experience helps inform the development of SEVA technology, infrastructure and training capabilities.
Our Relationship with the Forensic Community Extends Beyond Our Solutions
Progress in forensic science depends on knowledge being shared, discussed, demonstrated and applied. SEVA participates in conferences, CMEs, workshops, training programs, academic forums and institutional engagements to exchange knowledge, demonstrate emerging technologies and contribute to discussions around contemporary forensic practice.
These interactions also help SEVA remain connected with the professionals and institutions that use forensic technologies in real environments. Education and engagement are therefore not separate from the company's work. They are part of how SEVA contributes to wider capability development within the forensic community.
